Superbowl Ads

Monday, February 6th, 2006

One of my favorite parts of every Superbowl is the ads.  This year, I loved the Fed-Ex ad featuring cavemen and dinosaurs.  It was clever, funny, and creative.

Apparently, I’m not the only person who enjoys Superbowl ads.  In the first 24 hours after the game, AOL Sports’ Superbowl ads site streamed 31 million videos of the ads and received 650,000 votes for best ad.  Budweiser’s streaker ad won the contest - but Fed-Ex’s caveman ad wasn’t too far behind.

If you haven’t yet visited the site - you should.

Another Great Weekend at MCI

Monday, February 6th, 2006

This was the third weekend in a row where the Caps, the Wizards, and the Georgetown Hoyas all played at MCI Center.  And for the third weekend in a row–we were undefeated at home!

On Friday night, the Caps took on the Toronto Maple Leafs before a big crowd, and they won 4 to 1–in perhaps the most physical game of the year. It was like old style hockey–up and down the ice—lots of hitting and the Caps young legs won out over a tired veteran team. I hosted a nice young couple at the game.  The husband blogs pretty regularly about the Caps - check out his blog here.   On Saturday night, the Wizards beat the Atlanta Hawks, climbing back to within one game of 500.  The team has four more home games this week - a great opportunity for us to pull back into contention for the division title.   And on Sunday, Georgetown (now ranked 17th in the nation) defeated a really tough and talented Pittsburgh team.  The Hoyas have now won 6 games in a row.Georgetown men’s basketball is back!
