Earlier this year, I started a blog. Originally it was internal - available only to AOL employees, but since that didn’t really seem to be in keeping with the spirit of the internet, or the blogging community, I’ve decided to go public and open it up to everyone. So welcome to my blog.

Its a good idea to open up your blog to the public. Now maybe you will get comments. Based on the fact there havent been any we can only assume that your position intimidates the readers. Those of us “outside the company” remember you when you made that list thats almost complete. I on the other hand remember you when you thought you would live forever (25 years ago)
Welcome to the blogosphere, Ted. Don’t let the trolls discourage you.
Congratulations on becoming us hockey bloggers’ favorite team owner and good luck with your public blog! - Behind the Jersey
Welcome! You’ve got a blog!This is gonna be great….
Welcome to the blogosphere!
Good to see some other AOL and Time Warner folks taking up the blog mantle. I’d love to see other execs (Turner, Warner Brothers, Time) do the same thing.
Thanks for sharing the blog. And thanks for supporting The See Forever Foundation (I used to work there)
Welcome Ted! If you have any job openings either with the Caps or Wizards, let me know. Regardless, I look forward to reading this!
Nice. I like your top pick in blogs, too.
Great to see the transparency here, Ted. Looking forward to reading your thoughts.
Regardless of whether one agrees or disagrees with Ted or any other AOL execs, its a very promising sign that someone like Ted is willing to have a public blog accessible to the world. It’s amazing that more executives don’t do this - take the time to have an open forum with their customers - the ones who keep their companies afloat (not the NYSE).It’s a watershed day when some top people at leading media companies open a blog. The power of community is what it is all *becoming* about, with the good and the bad. Nobody or nothing is perfect. Just working at it is the challenge. With that said, thanks Ted. Now, if you write your entries yourself and not through an assistant, I’d be *really* impressed!
welcome to ze blogosphere Ted
Now that I’ve seen your 101 list, I want to be like you.
Hi Ted — just wanted to join the others in welcoming you to the blogosphere.Joe Loong, Sr. Programming Manager, AOL Blogs
I enjoyed working at AOL for five years where you always seemed to be a constant in a world of the fast moving internet. You had some edgy ideas. I enjoy listening to your comments on the EITM show from time to time. I wish you success on your blogging endeavor and will check back often. Take care.
Welcome to the blogosphere Mr. T. It’s a good place to be.
I have talked with so many people in the past about the famous “101 Things” list and it’s great that you went ahead and published it. I guess it’s never too late to start my own…
Very glad to have you blogging Ted. You’ll be in one of my “Favorites” files. (As for the first poster - “Myer” - could that be Berlow, the wooden bowl-maker? Eight hours a day at the lathe is a different kind of grind, I guess.)
Guess we’ll have to see how this goes after time. I’ll be checking back!———–RyanCyberNet Technology Newshttp://www.cybernetnews.com
just what the world needs…another tech blog!
Congratulations on the new public facing blog, I’ve long admired your corporate persona and I look forward to reading more about your interactions. Any chance you’d like to write a bit about hockey for Metroblogging DC? We’d love to host your comments on the Caps, that Ovechkin is pretty amazing, don’t you think?
Ted, best of luck with the Blog, I used to get you all your tickets..remember the NBA Allstar game in New york, and the Baltimore tickets…thats was before you became a really big bigshot..give mea ring one of these days…….
Now this could be interesting…and hopefully it activates some of the other aol execs and their timewarner cousins to leave their footprints in the sand…I look forward to reading more…
I hope we could see some of those industry pioneers blogging and being transparent in Asia where blog business is going crazy.
I for one am disappointed to see that you aren’t using AOL Journals. If they aren’t good enough for you to use why not fix them?
Mr. Leonsis,
I want to recommend another filmanthropy project. I’m a Katrina evacuee who must return home to New Orleans, La. It would greatly help me and my fellow evacuees if you would do a documentary on our far flung sojourn and hope to return home. Please respond to my inquiry.
Thank you,
