A few people have asked me why I’m not using the AOL Journals product for this blog. I love AOL Journals, and there are several of them that I check regularly, but the simple answer is that my tech guys told me that we needed to use a different platform in order to do the things I want to do with this blog. Beyond what is already up and running, we’re kicking around a few other ideas that will be rolling out in the next few weeks and months. Stay tuned!
Very much, the interesting site, is a lot of helpful information, has added in bookmarks, tomorrow I shall return again to read through the newcomer

I’m only speaking for myself when I say this, but … just be a little visionary for a moment. Ted’s going to learn a great deal real quick this way, and I’m sure he’ll be feeding what he learns back into our products to make them great.I really think the glass is half-full here.
…but the simple answer is that my tech guys told me that we needed to use a different platform in order to do the things I want to do with this blog. The ads on AOL Journals suck; that’s why he doesn’t use it!
Hello Ted, This post should qualify you for a reward of some kind. A Darwin, perhaps. Good luck in the blogosphere. It seems you (and the rest of AOL) may need it. ~G~
I agree with Matt. You should talk to your tech team to improve the existing product. Shouldn’t you be improving the “paying” member experience since they are paying your salary vs building out your OWN product. They have RSS and ATOM feeds! They have a ton of other features. The product manager has a journal where she talks about the exciting features that are coming up, http://journals.aol.com/blogsinsider/InTheKnow/
Ahhhhhhhhh… come off it, now.You aren’t the first or richest blogger to be scared away from AOL by the Smurf and her blogging style… a style that Dan Rather once didn’t say “hits you in the face like a sports brick.”
Mr: Leonsis: As an AOL member myself, why don’t you have your “tech guys” make AOL Journals more robust, to meet your needs? You’re not the only AOL member (not to mention, Vice President) who is disappointed in the Journals service. See you around the Galleria.
