Tata for Now

I had the good fortune to go to dinner and the Wizards game earlier this week with several executives from a company called the Tata Group. I didn’t know much about the company before the meeting, but am now fascinated with its history and operating philosophy.

I had the good fortune to go to dinner and the Wizards game earlier this week with several executives from a company called the Tata Group. I didn’t know much about the company before the meeting, but am now fascinated with its history and operating philosophy.

The Tata Group is one of India’s largest industrial conglomerates. It generates almost $18 billion a year in revenues, employs over 200,000 people, and is involved in everything from chemicals to steel to telecom.

As a gift, they gave me a coffee table book about the company

  1. Great to read your blog I searched for the words “Humata, Hukhta, Hvarshta” that are incribed on the face of a watch I was given by Tata executives some 8 years ago when I had dealings with them in South Africa and visited their operations in Pune, India. I am now living in New Zealand and am pleased to see that their venture in South Africa has made them the 2nd largest seller of medium commercial vehicles in that country.I am certain that Tata will go on to become a major global player and I have nothing but respect for the way they carry on business and make an wonderful contribution to society in India.

  2. Infact the inscribes “Good thoughts, good words, and good deeds” are the zorostrians teaching. Sadly this is all I learned of my homeland (Iran) religion.

  3. Being a zoroastrian parsi I like to follow the Tata group and came across your blog. Loved reading it. Thanks
