Last week I posted about Goodmail. My goal was to try and clear up some of the misinformation that is floating around the internet. Fortunately, AOL seems to be making a fair amount of progress in getting the facts out to people, but I’m the first to admit that we still have a ways to go.
Let me say this again:
Goodmail is an option for businesses and organizations. It is not a requirement. As long as they don’t violate our spam filters, companies who choose not to participate will still be able to send email to our members. Consumers do not, and will not, have to pay in order to send or receive email. AOL is making this option available because members and email senders asked us for exactly this type of service.
