Alex the Great

Last night, Russia defeated Canada and knocked the defending gold medalists out of the Olympic tournament.  As always, Alex Ovechkin played a tough, high-energy game, and scored yet another goal.

Alex’s mother won two Olympic gold medals during her stellar basketball career, and I know that performing well in these games is a major goal for Alex, and so far he’s shown that the apple really doesn’t fall far from the tree.  Congratulations Alex!

Poor NBC

NBC can’t possibly be happy with the fact that both the United States and Canada have been knocked out of the tournament.  I’m sure the medal games will feature some great hockey games, but I don’t see how a tournament that includes Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, and Finland is going to bring in real big ratings.
