The 19,000 fans who attended the final regular season game of the Dallas Mavericks each received a voucher for free flights on American Airlines.  It’s a great way to thank the fans for their support – and I want to congratulate my friend Mark Cuban, owner of the Mavericks, for his generosity.

Today is the NHL lottery draft drawing; the Caps have a chance to pick first–fourth or fifth.  Here is a good explanation of how the lottery works.

Congratulations to the Washington Wizards who are playoff bound for the second year in a row.  The Verizon Center will be loud and rocking for the playoffs and I hope everyone will come out to support our team.

Using the Caps as an example, we have roughly 14,000 fans at each game, and another 30-40,000 watching on TV or listening on the radio or through our website.  Each game thus has roughly 50,000 fans taking 2

Last night was the Caps final home game of the season. The Atlanta Thrashers needed a win in order to keep their playoff hopes alive, so they played a tough, almost desperate game, but the Caps still came out on top 6-4.

We played our typical gritty game.  After falling behind 1-0 just 11 seconds into the game, we battled back and scored a pair of goals in under a minute to take a 2-1 lead.  The game was passionate and very entertaining.  The Caps were down 4-3 after the second period, but they came out fired up for the third
