I have to admit that I don’t understand why this is so stunning. I’ve seen the Greek team play. They’ve been together for years. They run a Princeton-style offense – using pick and rolls. And, they can shoot and play great defense.

They aren’t fancy. They don’t make dramatic plays. They don’t showboat. They are a well coached, and well connected, team. They are a better team than the U.S.A. basketball team is. It’s that simple.

The U.S. Men’s basketball team hasn’t won a major international tournament since the 2000 Olympics. Is it really that shocking that they would lose this timep

Basketball is a great game. It’s a global game. The days of American basketball teams walking through major tournaments is long gone. We’d better get used to it.

The Caps recently announced the addition of two seasoned sports executives to our front office.  These two leaders have a great portfolio of experience in the NFL, the NBA, the NHL and the WNBA. Our business is very strong  this offseason – we are seeing great renewal rates – and I am hopeful that we can achieve 85 percent on our season tickets sales – which would be close to our team record.   Summer is over.  It’s time to start thinking about hockey isn’t it?  Practice and camp sessions start September 14th.  Players have been reporting to our front office in great shape.  I’m looking forward to a great year.
