Here is a nice blog remembrance from Howard Bloom as it relates to sports and 9/11.

Reflection
I flew to NYC this morning on the AOL shuttle. We landed in Teterboro, NJ at 800am and then drove into Manhattan. It is a glorious day – clear and crisp. As we entered the elevated lane to go into the Lincoln tunnel, I couldn’t help but reflect on what happened five years ago today - what a majestic sight the financial district skyline represents. How strong and alive this city seems right now. As I arrived into Manhattan, bells were ringing everywhere, and as I entered the hotel where I am speaking today, the national anthem was being played, and we held a moment of silence in the lobby of the hotel. A chorus of children sang, and everyone here is pausing for reflection. I have goosebumps. I am so proud to be an American.
Federer
As I noted earlier in the summer, Roger Federer is a once in a generation player – perhaps the most dominant tennis player ever. He is now the only player to have won Wimbledon and the US Open three times in a row. He is laser focused on winning the most major titles in tennis history - and he is only 25 years old. If he stays healthy, he will go down in history as the best tennis player–ever. So, sit back and enjoy watching history being made.
