Google is now worth $ 160 plus billion dollars. I think the highest AOL valuation ever reached was close to $ 200 billion. The recent Facebook private investment by Microsoft valued Facebook at $ 15 billion, less than 10 percent of Google’s present market cap. It is looking more and more like all of the public investment dollars that once went into traditional media stocks are now being parked at Google. This is an amazing ride in terms of building market cap with the stock going from $ 600 to almost $ 700 in a couple of weeks.

Let’s appreciate what we have.

Peter and I had lunch last month to discuss his plans and he informed me of his decision to become GM of the Slovakian national hockey team. I am very happy for him and believe he will be a great addition to the team’s infrastructure and his goal is to help his country develop its skill and professionalism and to win a medal at the World Championships. He seemed very pumped at this opportunity and is very focused on helping his country achieve success on a global basis.

We are talking about a series of things to do together but at this time he will be focused on his new position and we wish him the best of luck. Peter and I have a great relationship. I am very grateful for all he did for our franchise. Hopefully you will be seeing Peter around the Verizon Center and Kettler Capitals Iceplex in his new job. Wish him well when you see him. He is a great man and was a great player in the NHL. Peter is deciding on the nature of our relationship on the go forward and we are here to help him in his new capacity. More as it develops.

I watched the game. The Pats are clearly one of the two best teams in the NFL by a wide margin. The Skins are decimated by injuries and the Pats are a team in the zone, playing their best football led by one of the all time great QBs in Tom Brady.

The Skins are decimated by injuries and the Pats are a team in the zone, playing their best football led by one of the all time great QBs in Tom Brady. I thought the Pats running up the score was a bit classless and coaches and organizations have very long memories. I am sure one day there will be payback for going for it several times on 4th down when the team is up by 40 plus points. The Patriots are a great team. Next week’s game against the Colts will be a classic and we will be watching two future Hall of Fame QBs duel it out.

We believe in Alexander Semin and we are pleased to re-sign him for two additional years. He is back in our lineup now and we expect great things from him this season and the next two. It will be fun to watch him develop into one of the NHL’s great offensive forces. Another one of our first round picks, we believe he will mature and become a top 10 goal scorer in the NHL.
