George McPhee, Glen Hanlon and our staff have tough player personnel decisions to make this week. Camp – as advertised – has been very competitive and we have more NHL-caliber players than we can keep on the day to day professional roster. We have rebuilt the team through the draft; through trades; and through free agency. We have some depth now and we are ready for the season to start. I wouldn’t rule out a last minute trade and the feeling in the air is one of growing confidence in the talent level of our team. The vibe in the locker room is good and it is a different feeling this start of the season compared with the last two season starts. I am hopeful that we can keep healthy this week and get going starting Friday in Atlanta.
Thanks for putting your money where your mouth is Ted, this year’s time is much improved and will be fun to watch. I have to ask though, isn’t it a major error on the league office’s part that they are starting the NHL season in the US on the same night as basebal playoffs? If they had made it Tuesday night, they could have had all other leagues dark and the stage to themselves. This to me seems amateur on the league office’s part.

Ted, how about a “Caps Reports” TV show? I am being over-killed with Redskin garbage. I think there are thousands of potential new fans if only there were aware of the game in general and the team in particular. Also, the sport reporters on this town need to be educated; to me, they are incredibly shallow when it comes to sports other than Football.
Good luck to the team this year, I will be rooting for them as always.
If Eminger goes this team will not have realized the kid’s potential.
And we have a rockin new scoreboard! Go Caps!
Thank you Ted, Your organization has presided over a very well planned and thought out rebuilding of the Franchise. From the timing and choice of the Uniform change, to the construction of the practice facility, to the new HD screens, and of course the additions to the roster, this has been a first-class transformation. Ted, Kudos to you for having the patience and foresight to stick with your people and allow them to do their jobs. My 3 year old son and I attended the Ottawa game yesterday and had a great time, as a Caps fan for almost 30 years, I say Bravo. Here’s to the future!!
I can’t wait until the final roster is complete and the CAPS season finally starts!
Go Caps!
MIKE GREEN!!! Mike is the most improved player from last year the guy is a stud!
