I just finished reading this great new book by Mark Penn, a well known marketing executive, researcher and the person who coined the term "Soccer Mom". The book is really insightful into vertical markets; newly developing audiences; and how to reach and influence them. It speaks clearly on how to reach the new consumer in a language that is authentic and honest. It also proves a theorem that it takes only three million people to create a full on movement in America. I think this is one of the best business books I have read in the last 12 months.
Ted,
Agreed. It really opened my eyes to a lot of interesting “little” trends going on. One that I really loved and I’m passionate about is teaching young kids to be more entrepreneurial.
The microtrend of “Young Internet Moguls” really piqued my interest. I’ve been considering putting on a “Young Internet Titans” conference for quite awhile and bringing some of my
students who young guys/gals
who are doing well online to
share their stories. I think
this was the push I needed
to see this was really
viable.
I think anyone looking to get
ahead of the wave – should
check out this book.
