We always believed this would happen: Content and programming online would cross over and make it big into mainstream media. An online launch nested on AOL goes to the web and then to print, TV and/or radio.
Let’s review: Motley Fool is online and then went into print syndication nationwide with a series of books attached to it. iVillage went from online to television on NBC. And of course, Santa’s Homepage, the first online property to go to television via Brandon Tartikoff and his "Online Adventures of Ozzie the Elf" holiday special on ABC. Let’s not forget Preview Travel – now Travelocity – and their syndicated series of travel shows on cable television. TMZ is the big break-out hit, a great online site, syndicated across the web as well and now on television. It is the #1 syndicated series on TV. Congratulations TMZ and AOL.
