Wizards Go Deep in the Playoffs This Season

That is my prediction: The Wizards win the East and go deep into the playoffs. We have the talent to go all of the way as well. We need to stay healthy and focused on team goals. Kudos to Abe Pollin and Ernie Grunfeld for making the Wizards a perennial playoff team. The team has now matured and if it can stay healthy, I believe the team is poised for great developments. The Wizards are the best performing local sports team over the last four years in town. Who do you think has performed better in that time span?

  1. Ted,

I don’t mean this in a smart ass way; don’t all of the off court issues this franchise’s players have had trouble you? Would the same type of behavior be tolerated from other employees?

For as many high character individuals as the Wiz may have the number of times they hit the Post for issues not related to basketball is stunning.

  2. DC United is the best performing local sports team over the last four years. They won the MLS Championship in 2004 and have had the best record in MLS the past two seasons.

  3. The Wizards have made the playoffs three straight seasons and have won a playoff series (2005, over Bulls)…the only local pro side that can top that is DC United, four straight seasons in the playoffs (including this season) and an MLS Cup (their fourth) in 2004.
