Our fans thank you and we all read and enjoy your blog as well. I wanted to add some comments on the article though because I do think it misses some of the points of why we have led in the creation of a blogosphere. Every single newspaper, magazine and local TV station that covers us as a team is shrinking; losing readers and viewers; shedding advertisers; and cutting budgets. It has nothing to do with the quality of the work being done. It is just because the world has changed; the consuming audience has changed; and the way media is delivered has changed. 1. Ted, I am a Pens fan, but anything you can do to help the sport grow is great. I have to admit, I wish I was one of your top bloggers so I could cover the Worlds. I see no issue as long as they are fair and disclose everything, which they did. Hopefully I hear about something similar this year so I can get some good coverage of the event.

Good luck to the Caps, hope to meet them in the playoffs again soon.

  3. Interesting to hear your take on this program. One note: it was Wayne Gretzky who said “”Others go to where the puck is; I go to where the puck is going to be.”

  4. Ted, I’ve said this before, and at the risk of sounding like a suck-up, I’ll say it again: it’s really refreshing to see an owner embrace bloggers the way you have. It’s not just publicity you’re getting, it’s a whole lot of goodwill among the people who are truly passionate about the game. Trust me, this strategy is making a difference in the way a lot of us view the Caps.
