Wednesday, October 24th, 2007I am not defending Bruce Cassidy or our hiring of him but this post is not technically correct. Bruce led the Caps into the playoffs his first year of coaching for us where we lost in the playoffs to the Tampa Bay Lightning. If memory serves me correctly, we had more than 90 points that season making his debut season the second most successful for a Caps coach in our history with Ron Wilson’s first season the most successful. It was in Bruce’s second season that the team imploded and did not perform well.
What a Month at Verizon Center
Wednesday, October 24th, 2007Wow - the Verizon Center is like action central in November. Besides the Capitals, Georgetown men’s basketball and Wizards games; there are concerts from Van Halen, The Police, Bruce Springsteen, R. Kelly, The Wiggles and Dane Cook. That is 21 events in 30 days, an amazing schedule for the month.

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007We had very good renewals for season tickets and plans. We started the season at close to 85 percent and I believe we are now at close to 88 percent renewals. So the notion that we raised ticket prices and have driven customers away is just silly and wrong. Our ticket prices are basically the same as they were in 1999.
