We needed that kind of performance last night and congratulations to Nick Backstrom on his first NHL goal. I see my blog post on Mass Hysteria generated quite a bit of swirl and personal attacks yesterday as people read into it what they wanted. I posted it after getting an email from a fan saying that he had heard that Alex Ovechkin was leaving the Washington Capitals to go to Russia and that he was starting a petition drive to avert "Mass Hysteria" about our team. I told the fan that there was no truth to this rumor and that Mass Hysteria was a pretty big concept and one that is hard to put back into a bottle once the genie is let out. I then went to Wikipedia to see what Mass Hysteria meant and thought it was a cool definition in light of Facebook, instant messaging and the blogosphere; subjects that I comment on a regular basis. That was all. I promise to be clearer in my blog posts and NOT be so ambivalent sometimes. Ted
