Open Media Matters

Great Application for Facebook
Now we are talking! Here is a very useful utilitarian application on Facebook.
Great News
This article represents great news. We are so happy that the rink continues to flourish. We have such great memories of our time in Odenton. The folks were so supportive and the fans that came out where very educated about the NHL and hockey in general.
New Nats Stadium
Here is an article on the status of the new Washington Nationals stadium. My season tickets seats have been moved from the third base line to the first base line and I am very happy with the new location. I am also thrilled that the Pope will be making a showing at the stadium in April – what a way to kickoff the opening of a great new facility!
Here is an article on the status of the new Washington Nationals stadium. My season tickets seats have been moved from the third base line to the first base line and I am very happy with the new location. I am also thrilled that the Pope will be making a showing at the stadium in April – what a way to kickoff the opening of a great new facility! I must note that while I am bullish on the Nats and the new stadium, it has created a much more competitive environment for all local sports teams. We all now compete for suite sales; for sponsorship sales; for season ticket dollars; and for media dollars. We also compete for time and attention of sports fans and the media in general. And in baseball, the competition is now fierce with the Orioles. At one time, the Orioles could draw 3 million fans and try to compete with the Yankees and Red Sox. Now they draw about 1.5 million fans and I believe last season, the Nats drew about the same. So the market has been essentially split in half. The opening of the new stadium will help drive Nats sales but it would be great to see the Orioles winning and drawing 2-3 million fans and the Nats being able to draw 3 million fans so a rising tide could lift all boats. Time will tell if the fan bases can support – in a big market way – both teams.
