The NHL owners voted to change the schedule and we will now play teams within our division six times instead of eight times. It seems like we play Florida every week.

I agree with Mike…The Southeast division sucks, and it has not lived up to the standard we had when we were in the old Patrick Division. The word of the day should be “Realignment”
Good news. However, would everyone please stop whining about the divisional alignments. It’s just not that big a deal.
Hooray, it’s a step in the right direction. If I were you though I’d push for some marketing research to see if a schedule with at least 1 home & 1 away game might expand the fan base (across all the teams); then we could play every team in the conference 4 times – do away with divisions and just have conferences….Thanks again for providing quality hockey (once again) to the National Capital Region. LETS GO CAPS!!!!!!
Amen brother Ted, amen.
Wasn’t there a tentative plan to have 4 divisions? The caps would have been in the same div with Phi, Nyr, NYI, Pit, TB,Fla, and NJ..
YES! This is excellent news! Props to the league and owners for recognizing the fans desire to alter the current schedule system.
Haha, Agreed. Now move us into a division with Philly, NYR, and Pitt.
This is good news, but what do they mean by “Wildcard Games” I figured that if they wanted to do 18 games, they’d make it so the teams play 6 games against each division in the other conference. A home-and-home with the team that finished in the same position within their division as the previous season, and one against everyone else. That would seem fairer, I think, than some random scheduling.
