We have to fight through this latest wave of injuries. Losing Chris Clark, Michael Nylander and Boyd Gordon is a major blow to our team chemistry and set lines but we are at a point in the season where we just have to find a way to win games. No excuses. Every game and point matters.
We have to fight through this latest wave of injuries. Losing Chris Clark, Michael Nylander and Boyd Gordon is a major blow to our team chemistry and set lines but we are at a point in the season where we just have to find a way to win games. No excuses. Every game and point matters. It is interesting to see how NJ has pulled itself back into contention with one prolonged successful run winning eight games in a row. While we need a similar run, we have to have a mind set of getting points and victories one game at a time. It is a clich
Contrary to obviously your belief there are other good players in the league that aren’t on the caps, and normal people such as myself and Joe B. believe that you should give credit when credit is due. Joe talks highly of the two Alex’s dominance and the rest of the team almost constantly.
“Other teams fans have commented don how good he is. ”
Yeah, no joke he LOVES the other teams more than the Capitals…. They probably enjoy listening to him?
Think about that, the kids listening at home are doing just that… Are we molding Capitals Fans?
A Hockey Town’s fans wouldn’t tolerate him… SCORE!!! If he is so freaking talented, we should be able to get a good defenseman in a trade for him… or a new camera…
Ted:
Let benanati put his talents to work somewhere else…
I am a Caps fan, and have always been one… when the other team scores, our, announcers reaction should be, crap, they scored… this and this could have been done, break down in coverage, etc. etc…
he wouldn’t last a second in a HOCKEY TOWN, announcing like he does, that is the difference, if we are to be a hockey town, we need to act, feel, and sound like a hockey town… show him the freaking door, he is wanting to move on, let him…. root for the freaking other team with the other team…..
GREAT game tonight at VC. Coach B knows his stuff. Here’s to beating the Devils on Monday. GO CAPS!
The hottest guy in the organization is Potulny at Hershey. Get the people that are clicking up to the Caps.
Good luck,
Chris Green,
That’s because Bennanati has to be impartial when he does the versus games…its rubbing off on his Caps telecasts.
Ted,
Thank you for attempting to do something about the ice. I don’t necessarily understand why it took so long when apparently people have been complaining for a while but at least somethings finally being done about it.
Also, I want you to know I appreciate the fact you want to keep the team in Washington despite its awful attendance and support, we all complain about the miserable performance but in the end it would be tragic if they were relocated.
That said, we need a 1st or 2nd line RW and a TOP D-man now. We cannot make it past the first round much less make the playoffs with the team we have (even when healthy). Our defense is very soft and commits way too many turnovers. We need trades to shake things up. How in the world did we not pick up Bryzgolov from waivers and make Johnson part of a trade package for a draft pick or some depth help with all the injuries? I mean look at what the guy is doing in Phoenix! Imagine him and Olie splitting the time, we’d be set. Please do something. People are starting to stay away in droves and its very upsetting to me so I can imagine how it feels to you. Please get someone in here who can make some good trades and build a quality contender. BB is the man btw and should be retained full time as coach. Thanks!
I have to disagree about Joe B. He’s a great announcer and he and Craig together make for one of the most entertaining teams in the NHL.
My impression is that most of the Capitals play as if they’re amazed that they’re playing in the NHL at all and just wondering when they’ll be found out and sent back to the AHL. Other teams’ players assume that they’re worthy of playing at this level and the goal is, as a TEAM, to make the playoffs and win the cup.
Finally, a number of these players would probably perform much better on other teams (as many ex-Caps do). Now why is that?
Bennanati is one of the best announcers in the whole NHL. Other teams fans have commented don how good he is. I want someone with that depth of knowledge and respect for the game rather than a cheerleader. Exciting plays and good plays should be praised.. by any team. Joey B Rules..
Why not simply call up the Hershey Bears and send down the Caps?
No wonder people on the discussion boards are referring to the Washington Ovechkins. Maybe that should be: the Washington Overchkins, since the prospects are for one of the worst seasons ever.
Ted, I too share your sentiments . I am a long time Capitals fan and remember back the first time that Nylander was a part of this team. He was a very integral part that always seemed to make plays. As the saying goes the more things change the more they remain the same and I think this is true of Nylander. He continues to make plays. Bruce will get the most out of this team. He has been successful at every level so far. I still believe that will continue at the NHL level. I like to assess a team at each 20 game quarter throughout the season. This team is finally headed in the right direction. There is no excuse for Pothier to make that mistake at his own blue line. How many times do we have to watch former Capitals come back to haunt us(i.e. Zubrus and Gonchar)? I watch from Southern Mississippi but will be back in the DC area in six months! Am looking forward to next year to see the games in person.
Ted:
Do the fans a favor and use your influence to get rid of bennanati…. When the other team scores… his reactin SCORE!!!
He literally roots for the other team… He wouldn’t last one season as play by play in NJ, NY, NY, Philly anywhere….
You know, when the other team scores it ticks me off… not Bennanati…. oh, he’s excited….
It’s a jinx on the team to have an announcer that takes pleasure in the other team scoring…. He uses half the broadcast praising the other team, in some kind of idol worship……
