If you were there, you understand what I mean: great game; great atmosphere; and fun mullets to wear during 80′s Night at Verizon Center.
How about Mike Green leading all NHL D men in goals scored now, notching the game winner in overtime? And our resiliency in bouncing back after the NY Rangers went up 2-0 and then kept catching us on our one goal leads? I am proud of the way the team didn’t let down and kept the pressure on the Rangers throughout the game. We looked confident and frankly more energetic than the Rangers last night. I also want to thank the NY Rangers fan who gave me the middle finger salute as he walked past my box after the game as I was shaking fans
Ted,
You are the coolest owner ever! I don’t think Dan Snyder would even give a fan the time of day, let alone set up a blog and leave himself open to the fans like this.
Keep up the good work
Please tell McPhee to keep Boudreau around for a while.
We (the fans) seem to like him around here
Mullet night and Jagr, genious!!! What a laugh. I really had a great time at the game last night. As much as I love the new uniforms, I was really hoping to see them sport the Langway-era uni’s on 80s night. That would have been perfect! I was also hoping Motzko would get a hat trick, so that the ice would have been covered in red mullets!
Ted,
Ditto – that was an awesome game, and the 80s night was a great success. Are there any fans that are more obnoxious and classless in another team’s rink than the NY Rangers fans? Can’t tell you how many four letter words I heard yelled out by a group of them by my seats. I certainly wouldn’t want to bring my kid to a game with that going on – but a win will shut them up in a hurry! GO CAPS!
It’s always a high-class affair when the Rangers fans are in the building…jeez…
GREAT GAME LAST NIGHT!
. . . and if you weren’t there, Joe B. and Locker did a nice job of calling the game on TV last night and picking up on the 80s theme. Good graphics (players from the 80s who are still in the league, etc.), lots of banter (song titles, who did or didn’t have a mullet, etc.) And they knew when to put that aside and let a great game take over.
That might have been the Rangers fan in 101 that had the sweet (real) mullet going on. He was just mad at you for letting us all in on his awesomeness!!!
Only 10 points out of 5th place (which would put us ahead of the recently defeated Rangers)!
it was a great game…but you cannot take pride in the turnover that created the winning goal. The rut in the ice is what caused Shannahan to trip and fall, and turn the puck over – he wasn’t the first to trip on the ice. The puck too, had interesting bounces. Congrats on a good game
It was an epic game, I’m so happy I was there. I had tears when Green scored. I’ll remember this game for a long long time.
On a side note, it was kind of hot for a hockey game. I wouldn’t mind the temperature turned down a bit so the ice is better. I could see puddles of water yesterday.
GO CAPS!
It was one of the best games I’ve seen in a while too.. unfortunately, I wasn’t at the game, but watching HTS…
Where I got to listen to every other teams best fan Bennanati cheer when the other teams score! Score!, Bullseye! I thought he’d wet himself on the Shanahan goal tying the game at 4…
Bullseye? Sure glad he got that shot by Ollie! Oh, if only Jagr could have scored the game winner, so Bennanati can school me on how great a player he is?
That’s what I want to hear. We need more of that, let’s get rid of Laughlin, and Reekie… Heck, I bet they actually know the feeling of the let down when the other team scores on the Caps….
I bet they have been in games where we lose by one goal….
That game was so awesome! What an awesome coach BB is (keep him!), keep AO and Green too b/c they are phenominal!
Best caps game I’ve been to all season. The boys didn’t quit and Mike Green looks better and better every game! Thanks for bringing in Coach B as he has truely connected with the Caps. Hopefully with Clark and Nylander coming back we can keep this streak going.
Great game. Looking forward to when you make Boudreau the real coach, and take away the ‘interim’ tag. He’s light years ahead of where Hanlon had the team, and really has motivated the team.
The fact that a Rangers fan did that proves what I was saying last night: Caps fans are classier then Rangers fans. We filed out of the arena and sure, we were happy but we weren’t throwing it in the Rangers’ fans faces. Unlike last February when I was taunted all the way to Metro Center but Rangers fans…grown men no less!
Frankly, I don’t go to Ranger games any longer because the Ranger fans are such arrogant jerks.
Fantastic win last night. I could have sworn our attendance looked better than the reported number on http://www.nhl.com.
It was loud in my section and definitely one of the most enjoyable Caps games to see in person in a while.
It’s just fun making fun of the crybaby/whiner Jagr esp after reading about his temper tantrum on the bench in the papers this morning.
Hey Ted, maybe next Caps/Rangers game, you can have Chuck Norris in your box with you? No one would dare mess with you then!
Seriously though, this was a great game, and the Caps showed some moxie in their play. I wonder if anyone realizes the Caps are tied for 3rd in the east in points in the last 10 games (with 13, tied with Boston, and behind the Penguins and Devils…of course the Devils only regulation loss in the last 10 was to the Caps!)
The Caps are just 9 behind Carolina with a Game in hand, have been playing better than anyone in the Southeast again, and if this keeps up, they’ll be moving into first soon enough…
I was rooting for Motzko to complete the hat trick. Bet the “hats” would have been red mullets. That would have been on YouTube for days!
That was the best Caps game Ive been to in several years. Alex O was simply awesome out there, especially in OT.
And Ted, thanks for using that beautiful new scoreboard to finally show more replays! By the way we all now that Mullet night was designed just to make fun of Jagr! Great idea!
Ted,
You should find out who this clown is and invite him to your box the next time the blueshirts come in.
