I thought we dominated most of the game last night. We were the quicker and hungrier team and we deserved two points. It was also great to see Alex Semin contribute in a big way to tie the game with about a minute left in the contest. His shootout goal was pretty too.

Playing well on the road on national TV against the best team in the NHL and losing in the shootout is painful but a positive step. We get three of four points on this mini road trip and continue to play aggressive and team-oriented hockey. We are making progress.
A good game. And getting one point when other teams would get pasted is commendable. Hope Olie can find some new shootout mojo though. When three straight shooters go the same the same way, it’s obvious what the scouting report said.
If anyone told me going into the road trip that the Caps would get 3 out of 4 points, I’d be happy. I would have liked to get 4, but we got three, and in the game that matters more in the standings, we made sure Tampa got nothing and liked it! (Well, ok, they didn’t like it, but that’s what they got.)
As of today we’ve got the same number of points as Atlanta, but more importantly, we’re only five points out of a playoff berth…
Ted-
You are exactly right-progress. Semin contributing is so huge. I think BB is right, Semin makes the Caps so much better when he is on. Let’s sweep the next two and we’ll be in great shape!
