Tonight is an important game for us. We had a successful road trip last week but we MUST start to dominate and garner points when we play at home. We have a losing record at Verizon Center which is quite unusual for us as a franchise. The young goaltender for the Canadiens is a real talent. I saw him play twice in Hershey last season as his team won the Calder Cup defeating us in the finals. Bruce is aware of his talents and tendencies and this should be an exciting game for our fans. Come on out and enjoy the game!
Well, I sure misjudged this game. Very disheartening, and reminded me of previous ‘efforts’ this season. Defense let the team down. Face it, we’re mediocre at best. I guess we need to accept it at this point, regardless of whatever spin anyone from management to
the coaching staff puts on it.
“The only players among their skaters I would want on the Caps roster would be Koivu (who is still tough as they come) and Hamrlik.”
Are you kidding? Higgins is terrific and so is Markov. Hamrlik has not been good for a long long time.
Ted-
We keep winning the fans will come and we’ll really have an advantage. I remember back in 2000 when we had that unbelievable 2nd half. I think we lost only 8 times that whole year at home. Go Caps!
Tandis que le jeune guardien pour Les Habs peut être bon, le guardien plus âgé (Cristobal Huet) sera probablement dans le filet. Mais il n’importe pas, je suis très excité pour aller le match ce soir!
I have a really good feeling about tonights game. Caps play the Habs pretty well as a rule.
Caps win tonight, and keep the positive spirit going!
LETS GO CAPS!!!
Price is the real deal in the nets. I don’t watch the Habs much on Center Ice (since I find them to be a very dull team to watch) but what I’ve seen of Price has impressed me. With him and Huet, the Habs are set in goal for awhile.
That said, the rest of this team is pretty awful. The only players among their skaters I would want on the Caps roster would be Koivu (who is still tough as they come) and Hamrlik. Other than that, there’s a whole lot of nothing (although the Kastitsyn brothers may become something in the future).
I’m thinking that if the Caps play like they did against Detroit and Tampa recently, and can avoid mistakes, they can win this game 4-1 or something like that (they’re not going to blow them out due to the goaltending keeping them in most of the game).
Ted — why don’t we take a step forward and sign Bruce to a one or two year deal. It will be a big lift for the team.
