Thanks to The Washington Times

Thanks for providing this coverage on the Caps prospects and for mentioning the game tonight at home against the Lightning. I hope our fans will turn out to support us and that we kick off the post holiday vacation with a much-needed home win.

  1. Anne’s comment is curious.. I’d like to have heard that…

Anyhow, The Caps coverage in the Washington Times is awesome! It has been a constant since that Corey guy took over for Dave…. He has some big shoes to fill, and I think he is doing an admirable job….

I am so stoked that we have two top flite defenseman in the pipe line.

  2. Wasn’t that a great effort last night? The Caps only really made three bad mistakes the entire game (unfortunately two of them ended up with the puck on Vinny Lecavalier’s stick…and he buried them. He’s leading the league in scoring for a reason). If not for their hot goaltending (that kid Rammo is something) the Caps could have won the game 6-2 or 7-2.

The turn around is starting…now some tough games coming up (@Pit, @Ott, Ott). If the Caps can get through this stretch with 3 or 4 points (would love 6, but let’s be realistic) they’ll be on their way.

PS. Thanks for the surprise vouchers in the Xmas cards for season ticket holders! :)

  3. Despite that one fan’s issues with Brooks, I’d say more than a handful showed up tonight, and I’d say the result was definitely a reflection of the fans support. Laich might say some stupid things, but tonight was fun, there was a smart and good crowd, and I was glad to have been there.

Extend my and all my friends congratulations to Bruce if you don’t mind, Ted. We are ecstatic for him, and feel he’s a great coach in the making.

  4. Mr. Leonsis,

I tuned in Saturday, December 22, to listen to the Caps game on the radio, as they played the Islanders. During the broadcast, interviews of the players were aired, and Brooks Laich made the comment that he thought the team would have a better chance of winning because it was an away game and there would not be any fans to distract them. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the Caps lost to the Islanders by one point in overtime. And, there were apparently no fans there to distract them from winning. To Mr. Laich and the Caps team and establishment: you now have one less fan to distract you in Verizon Center. You now have one less fan to purchase tickets and support your handsome salaries. And this fan always brings friends. Perhaps it’s the fans, or Boudreau’s “new system,” but it increasingly seems to be someone else’s fault that the Caps don’t win, or that an individual player doesn’t perform his possible best. It will no longer be this fan’s fault.
