A Good Win For a Good Man

Bruce is a good man; a true hockey man; and a very straight shooter. We are so pleased that the team has responded so well to him and his coaching style and personality. Our conversations have been pretty straight forward, demand accountability – and win – and everything else will take care of itself. So far so good. Thank you Bruce.

  1. The Caps are 0.625 in points capture for the month of December. If they played the first part of the season that way, they would have 47 points behind only the Red Wings and the Senators. Coach Boudreau is very deserving of the change in title and the style of hockey the Caps now play A LOT more funt to watch. LETS GO CAPS!!!!!

  2. Yeah, I liked benaDict-nati fessing up last night about Caps fans wanting his head because he described a goal on us as ‘Sensational’….

Got news for you…. You call em like that in a Hockey Town like Pittsburgh…. in the concourse after the game I’d bet you get a “Sensational” – “Bullseye” from their fans…

You have to look at every aspect of our franchise…. and this is glaring… How are we going to build our fan base to sell out the games like last nights in the igloo?

    Bring in Reekie!!

  3. I met Joe Benanati at the uniform unveiling ceremony/draft day party. He seemed very much to be a big fan of the new uniforms, talked about how he wanted to see the team do well in them. I think Joe wants to look unbiased, so he can get jobs elsewhere after his washington caps play by play career. Unfortunately, he takes it over the top, and makes it look like he’s a fan of the other team.

He seemed very nice, saw me in my new t-shirt and signed hat, and was in mid-conversation with a man and immediately brought it to a pause to talk to me about if I liked the new Unis, what I thought, and what not. He’s a nice guy, and I hope the best for him.

Bruce Boudreau is a great coach. It’s nice to see him rewarded. Hopefully he always has his players eyes and ears.

It was great to see just as I ended that last sentence, Ovechkin put the puck in the net for the Caps for a 3-2 lead. Keep it up, guys!

  4. I am glad you guys made him head coach. He has a track record of winning and modestly worked his way up the ladder. I prefer this than looking outside the organization. This team has a good chance at playoffs. The play has been inspired and it’s been fun to watch Caps games again.

  5. Kudos to you Ted. Boudreau has already mad ea different in style, technique, aggressiveness and it has show on the penalty kill, power play and the fact that some lesser line players are starting to score.

  6. Congratulations to Coach Boudreau! Great game last night. This guy knows how to rally the troops and play with passion. He’s a keeper indeed.

  7. GREAT game last night! The

Caps played fierce hockey. We are lovin’ Coach B and happy to see him stay awhile. GO CAPS!!

  8. BB has indeed grabbed the bull by the horns – good for him. It will be interesting to see how the Caps play when Clark, Gordon and Fehr(?) return.

  9. Awesome Game last night! Tampa put up a fight, and as usual Ollie kept us in the game…. The beauty was where the scoring came from, not our top scorers but the guys in the trenches….

My favorite announcer was at it again last night… Listen to the Benanati… at 11:20 of the second period, he describes Tampa clearing the zone as “Thankfully… (pause) For Them” (as he caught himself).

He literally roots for the other team… there is no excuse this time, it captures his complete attitude towards the Caps…..

A coaching change did wonders for the team, now it’s time for an announcing change in the booth…. Let’s get Reekie in there for the play by play… and send BenaDict Arnold Bennanti to Tampa so he can root for them there….

I can see if an announcer has an affinity for an old time hockey team that was always his favorite… but Tampa? The franchise is like 10 years old?
