I think Nicklas Backstrom is playing quite well and is now in the hunt for best rookie in the NHL. He is a great kid, a great teammate and is on his way to a really terrific NHL career.

I received a bunch of emails regarding why the Caps didn’t have in arena laptops available to help on All-Star voting this season. Ironically, most of the emails were from people that live outside of DC. As many of you that regularly attend games know, we had set up this kind of configuration the last two seasons. We had four to six laptops set up to get out the vote but – sad to say – we were averaging less than 100 votes per game in this manner. So a lot of work, a lot of expense and a lot of inconvenience for fans to stop in between periods to vote but not a lot of results to our players
