It Wasn’t Who Wasn’t There: It Was Who Was There

We were missing Pothier, Semin, Clark, Johnson and Poti from the lineup today. We could have felt sorry for ourselves. After going down 2 to 0, we could have shut it down on the road at Montreal.

But we had Ovechkin (twice), Backstrom, Gordon and Green – all young players; all first round picks; all goal scorers who showed perseverance, strength and will of purpose – to win 5 to 4 in overtime. This was a good way to pick up two points and a really gritty victory for the good guys. The team has to feel good about itself after a great road win like that. Now home for a few days to rest and then take on the Avalanche at home on Wednesday. Go Caps!

Stakes Are High Now

Wow. The stakes just got raised here – high and all in!

You can never NOT tell the truth to Congress or in a court of law. I look forward to seeing Roger Clemens on 60 Minutes this Sunday and then watching his testimony in front of this congressional panel. My instinct says that Roger Clemens has very good counsel and he knew he would be called in front of this panel. He feels confident that he is innocent and wants to clear his name. He will NOT be able to dodge questions and make vague statements. He will be asked yes and no questions. This will have very high drama.
