Thanks to Michael

Michael Nylander is a very talented, loyal and brave player. He has been injured for a while but felt he could play and contribute to our team. When the pain became unbearable, he had to shut it down and will now have surgery and will miss the remainder of the season. We will miss him and we all appreciate his playing through pain for his great contributions this season as a player and as an on ice leader and off ice mentor. He played through great discomfort and he was hindered as a player. He couldn’t battle for pucks. He was slowed defensively. He couldn’t raise his shoulders up high yet he contributed to us and we will miss his play. Get well soon Michael. We will see you back on ice next season. As a team, we must now make due without one of our main off season free agent signings. We must get past this set of injuries (Clark, Pothier and Nylander) and focus on good team play while being productive and adding points. I also want to add that I am disappointed that several people found out about the specifics of Michael’s injuries and reported them or passed along this info to the media after it was reported. We noted competing teams taking direct aim at Michael’s shoulders with checks and with physical play. All is fair in love and war but this is a major reason I wish we didn’t communicate specifics of injuries. We might as well put a big X on a player

Real Recognizes Real…

If you watched the game on TV last night, you saw an amazing comeback. We were down 14 points with less than six minutes left and ended up winning by five points on the road in Boston.

If you watched the game on TV last night, you saw an amazing comeback. We were down 14 points with less than six minutes left and ended up winning by five points on the road in Boston. I can now safely trash talk to my relatives in Lowell, Mass. – at least for a short while – after winning back to back games against the Celtics. Mr. Pollin and Ernie Grunfeld have built a very resilient team, a team that plays with guile and hard work. To be four games over 500 playing without Gilbert Arenas is a great achievement. There is something special about this team.
