I Beg to Differ

Sheila Nevins is the goddess of documentaries. We all owe Sheila and HBO a debt of gratitude. They are evangelists of the genre. They help filmmakers finance films. They have great taste and HBO is the best way to get your film out to the right audience. I love working with Sheila and HBO. They worked with us on Nanking. I intend to work with her and Sara Bernstein on many projects over the years. There is nothing cooler than heading to Sheila’s apartment in NYC – DVD in hand – and screening the film for her and awaiting judgment. She has great instincts and a feel for how audiences will react. HBO is still dominant and Sheila is a great inspiration for us all.

Catching Our Collective Breath

We need a few days off during the All-Star break to catch our breath. Congratulations to Alex Ovechkin who may now be the brightest star at the game in Atlanta. He is close to the league lead in points scored and leads the league in goals scored. And I am sure his good buddy and linemate Nicklas Backstrom will enjoy his time in the spotlight too at the Young Stars game. He is also getting recognition now as a legitimate Rookie of the Year candidate.

We are now one point out of first place in the Southeast division. We have two games in hand having played 50 games to date vs. 52 games played by Carolina. The playoff race is now on. Please enjoy the ride and come on out to see the team play at Verizon Center.

Donald. Donald. Donald.

We re-signed Donald for another year. He likes it in Washington and is confident in our plans and prospects for growing into a very good team. He provides a unique edge for our team. He lets our skilled players play with confidence. He works hard and is great in the locker room and within our community. I am glad he is here and will play for us next season too. Go Caps!
