What Can You Say?

Odd game – weird dynamics. We get a win, two points and a comeback victory. That is all that matters.

Odd game – weird dynamics. We get a win, two points and a comeback victory. That is all that matters. Here is something that is amazing. Rick Nash is one of the great young players in the NHL. He was the first pick in the entire draft. He is an All-Star. He scored two goals last night to bring his total for the year to 28 goals scored. Alex Ovechkin was the first pick in the draft. He is an All-Star and scored two goals last night to bring his total goals for the season to 45. Alex has 17 more goals than Rick Nash this season. A stunning statistic in that Rick Nash is having a great year.

  1. Fred B. – Alex is the best player in the NHL right now, very true, but there are some players who are comparable in terms of ability and talent, and Rick Nash (along with Sid the Kid, Jarome Iginla, Vinny Lecavalier, Eric Stall, Nick Backstrom…) compares favorably and is in the same class of player.

Alex happens to be at the head of the class.

  2. How about the speed Nash showed on that first goal when Ovie tried to catch from behind and couldn’t do it?

  3. I know these are professionals but I’m really impressed with how the Caps kept their composure after the McCreary debacle and kept plugging away. The Caps of the past would have probably said “woe is me” and give up 3 more goals.. Nice job.

  4. Nash is awesome, and he gets his work ethic from his Junior coach (some guy named Dale Hunter!). He is a force to be reckoned with in the west.

I’ve actually calmed down some from the game and from Bill McCreary’s misadventure during the game. I sent a polite note to the NHLOA suggesting that to make amends, Bill McCreary contact Shaone and find out what charitable organizations Shaone works with and donate part or all of his game check to that charity. This would make it a win-win for everyone!
