  1. Ted,

I read your blog all the time, thanks for reading mine, and posting it here.

As much as I push, I know my colleagues will come around and give you and this team the coverage it deserves.

I just hope you’ll bring the Cup to our studios when you get your hands on it!!!

  2. Ted,

Something has to change with the people in the ticket sales booths at the Verizon Center. I have seen people in large numbers turn away and leave the verizon center on game day because of the rude behavior of the salespeople. The team is losing would be fans because the ticket people decide to close there windows with no notice and 30 people in line. People leave because the sales people tell them that they don’t care if they come into the game or go home.

These are all things I have seen in the past two times I have gone to games outside of my six pack of tickets and decided to wait in line.

If the people at the ticket booths conitnue to turn people off of hockey with their rude behavior, how can this team grow?

  3. Amen, Roger & Mia G. I’ve been following the Caps since 87′, waaay back in the 4th grade and sort of a “tot”. When in addition to the well-knowns like Langway et al, we had guys like Yvonne Corriveau, Clint Malarchuk, Bengt Gustaffson, Lou Franceschetti….man, seems like forever now.

But I’ve been with this team ever since those days, through highs and lows, and really appreciate what Ted is doing. Making Caps hockey once again exciting.

Thank you, Ted, for improving this organization, this team, this product, this experience…and it truly is and has been an experience…from a Caps fan who has bled the colors for many years. Its been quite awhile since the buzz about the team has reached this level…even the few short years ago when we were a playoff team. “The Plan” looks to be bearing much fruit and I think I speak for many fans when I once again say “Thanks”.

You’ve done a great job and I know the best is yet to come. I can’t wait!

    LET’S GO CAPS!!!

  4. Is it permissible under the new CBA to fine a player for taking his team off the powerplay with stupid, selfish penalties? Because if it is, you might want to talk to Semin about that.

  5. Bandwagon Fan? One of my favorite movies “Parenthood” with Steve Martin has his elderly mom talking about life. Do you want the roller coaster or the merry ground? Do you want to experience the really highs and the really lows or just go around in a circle? For me, my Caps experience since 1980 has been a roller coaster – and I love it. The lows are behind us for a while; the highs are today. In any case – I am thoroughly enjoying the ride!! Bandwagon crap!!

  6. Sir,

I was the gentleman that emailed quite a bit ago, when times were bad, telling you that I went to a game two days out of the hospital and how much the capitals were a part of me growing up. I was also the gentlemen that sent SIGNED emails when frustration hit the max for us STH.

Like I said in previous email, I believe in what you are doing here in Washington and I can see the overall plan. I just wanted to tell you again, thank you for keeping the Caps here in Washington and more importantly, thank you for bringing back the excitement of the pl*y*ff chase. My dad, who swore off hockey after the lockout, has again taken notice and this has helped our relationship unequivocally.

I look forward to packing the house tonight for one of the first times in my memory and hopefully those pesky 200 section fans show up. Looking forward to a big win and the start of something special in Washington.

    LETS GO CAPITALSSSSSSSS!!!!!

    #8 for MVP

  7. Ted, While it may be true that the majority of the Caps fanbase are “bandwagoners”, let it be known that there are those of us who have been standing by our Caps for many, many years. We’ve been out there cheering and wearing Caps gear everywhere we go – no matter the team’s standing or performance. Some of us have been “believing” since we were tiny little tots, just barely able to skate. If Washington is a “bandwagon” town, then those of us who have been standing behind our Caps through it all, logically, must be the ones who are pulling the “wagon”. As a wagon puller, I too hope the Cup comes to DC – and it will. After years of waiting, I can only hope that the “wagon” disappears forever. ROCK ON CAPS!!!
