OK. We added a veteran center now for the playoff push – a Stanley Cup winner – for a second round pick. I am hopeful this will help us for the remainder of the season and hopefully into the playoffs. It should be fun seeing him skate with Semin and Ovechkin.

The ESPN blog on trade deadline moves is a good one. I am enjoying it in real time.

I am at the Tampa airport on my way home to DC. I was here on business and am shocked at how much coverage the Lightning gets down here. There are kiosks in the airport to buy Tampa gear, hats and t-shirts; co-promotions with Subway; and a bunch of signs everywhere. When I left National airport I didn’t see any Caps merchandise but I did see the kiosk selling

If true, the Southeast conference would be losing some great players to other teams outside the conference. Today should be an interesting day so stay tuned. I am glad we have been able to re-sign Alex Ovechkin and Alex Semin so far this season.
