Good for the new guys. They helped us win a tough and important game. We were dominant last night and Huet earned a shutout. Fedorov was great on faceoffs and great on the power play. For a night at least, all went to plan.

For a night at least, all went to plan. I am not concerned about Alex Ovechkin. He wants to win and make the playoffs as a priority. We are winning against tough teams. All is then well.
Granted Georgetown was playing some where else. Not withstanding the ice did seem to be an issue during this game. I commented about it several times to friends while I was watching. The puck was bouncing and rolling all over the place.
Well, that’s nice. But the Caps lost a terrible game to Toronto tonight largely due to lousy ice. I’m tired of paying top dollar to see games that are adversely impacted by the terrible surface. Tell Georgetown to find their own damn arena.

Considering in the last 2 games, the Caps have scored 8 goals and allowed only one. This with Alex getting only one assist.
Fast forward to when Alex is out of this mini-slump (how is it a slump when a guy has 5 points in the last 5 games???). Now imagine what the scoreboard will look like.
Oh, and the cure for all slumps is in the Phone Booth tonight in the form of the Maple Leafs…

Great game for the new guys and the team as a whole. Awesome effort all around.
As for AO he just seems to be pressing right now. Alot of his shots that normally go in the net are going high or wide. He has fanned on some chances where he usually gets off a good shot. I have also noticed that he seems to be trying to pass more instead of shooting. Hopefully, he can get one to go in soon, be it an awesome shot or a fluke, just to get him on a roll again. Right now he seems a little snake bitten.
