Here is a good post from OFB. We should never forget that we are still one of the youngest teams in the NHL. We have one of the youngest defenses in the league. These games "that matter" are good for us. It is like throwing a kid in the pool to see if he can swim. It is how young players get experience in meaningful and pressure packed games. It is all part of the maturing process but it will be a bumpy ride. Try to enjoy it.
I love seeing Green take the puck coast to coast, I tend to cringe when he is in the same hurry around our net.
My hope is that his homework assignments involve an hour of Gonchar vids each night, to focus on limiting defensive slip ups…
Federov and Cooke are good two-way players and that should help. I look forward to our Caps D’ corps two years from now, and we reverse the hex the Pens have had on us…
