Don’t Get Too Highs With The Highs…

We could lose 1-0 or 10-1 on Wednesday. It is the nature of pro sports. I have been on both sides of a whooping. A game like last night is an anomaly. We only get two points for the win. It was a good start to a tough week but Wednesday’s game is equally as important as last night’s game. It was great to see Alex Ovechkin get his 50th goal and to see basically the entire team having fun playing an aggressive offensive style. I also must note that it was Matt Cooke’s goal to open the scoring that got us started. Welcome to Washington, Matt.  We play Boston two more times. They can

  1. The CAPS are the hardest team in the league to play against if they think they have it hard or can’t win (ask Ottawa and NJ) they crush the best teams because they seam to just say F it and play all out. if they think they can win they play with caution and loose. The CAPS are an agressive offensive team that no team can handle when they play that way, but if they play defensive they loose. Not a sermon just a thought…

  2. Wins are all good… hopefully we can get one vs. Buffalo before we start looking at Sat. afternoon. Gotta focus on the Sabres first (at last check, they’ve done pretty well against us this year…)

  3. That game was amazing! I think it was just a good exposition of what this team is capable. We have the talent and soon we’ll have the experience. I hope this gives our boys the confidence to see what they can accomplish when they work together as a team! That game was so much fun. It was funny too b/c I’m a season ticket holder and I was sitting by a non season ticket holder. I kid you not by the end of the 2nd period he decided that he wanted to get season tickets for next year! Did you guys see a surge of interest in season tickets last night?

  4. What an absolutely stunning performance last night. Everything clicked and it was a goal scoring clinic of epic proportions led by Ovechkin. Cooke, Laich, Bradley and even Brashear found the back of the net. Backstrom and Ovie finding each other for home-run plays. Huet and Kolzig form a great tandem and the defense did its part, too. There’s something special about his team Ted and I want to thank George McPhee for making trades which have injected new life into this team. Thank you, thank you.

  5. The key to this Caps run at the playoff is intensity. The team was so intense last night. Full hustle every shift, hitting, sweet passing, it was an all out effort. Thats what the Caps need to bring for the rest of the year to make it. When the team plays with that intensity they are hard to beat. So ya just gotta bring it boys…every second of every shift…just bring it. If you lose ya lose but don’t let it be because of lack of energy and desire.

  6. I’ll start worrying about future games when I settle back down from the stratosphere. Maybe Wednesday about 6:45 PM.

  7. that game was WILD! I was making dinner and every time I checked the TV, it seemed like the Caps had scored again. Good to see the arena filled up, too! Must be fun to be a Caps season ticket holder these days.

  8. It may be an anomoly but it was still one amazing game, and I was so glad to be there for it.

  9. Last nights game was friggin’ awesome! The whole place was going wild! And I must say, Huet just looks great in net. When they are about to drop the puck in our defensive zone, you can see by Huet’s aggressive stance that he means business. This was the best game I have seen this year (16)

  10. It doesn’t hurt to whoop it up on national tv and get the Caps on all kinds of highlight reels though! Also, as a displaced fan in Boston, I hope this makes Saturday’s game all the more hard-fought.

  11. Bingo. At this point, a win is a win. You said yesterday that we as fans should just enjoy the ride of rooting for a young, improving team. Well last night like a 400 foot drop! Woo hoo!!
