  1. Nick is having an amazing year, although I don’t think he’d be ahead of Sid if Sid hadn’t missed 20 games…. this year. There is so much upside with the Caps right now it’s scary and wondeful all at once. Aside from Ovie, Nick, Green, and Semin, let’s not forget that this team is loaded with younger players who are talented in different ways (Gordon is one of the top 10 defensive forwards in the league, Laich is good on face-offs and may hit 20 goals, Laing is a great shot-blocker, Schultz and Morrisson are becoming more than capable backliners, and waiting in the wings is Karl Alzner…)

Lord Stanley may visit a nations capital soon…and likely it’ll be this one. :)

  2. Backstrom appears to have been unfairly assessed before the season by some of his own countrymen who have had NHL experience. He’s not Forsberg (yet), but he like Alex is turning the heads as his rookie season rolls on. The plays these two have made to find each other in recent games is just a glimpse of great things to come. Malkin’s Calder bookended by two Capitals would be SWEET!

  3. Thats awesome. It’s nice to see Patrick Kane on that list as well…It makes for fun and interesting hockey when the younger guys are working this hard. Now lets crush those Sabres!!!

  4. I’m not amazed! He is a great player on a great line! I hope you did not think he would suck when we drafted him???? Also not amazing is fish can swim and breath under water….

  5. Playing side by side with the Ruski trio (now quad), someone had to get all the assists.

  6. Check out the bottom of the +/- list – those are some big names with some low numbers. At the other end, Lidstrom with +39 – wow!
