  1. As a fan of the team since the first puck dropped at the Capital Center, raw deals or not, we are playing pretty good. Carolina is not that good and they will stumble before it is all over. If we get hot and there are not it will be over for them!!! (I can dream cant I?)

  2. What was so bad about this game was that it wasn’t just one bad call – the Cooke penalty was excessive, the Erskine call was non-existent, the refs missed calls on Chara for interfering with Ovechkin, a high hit on Green who didn’t have the puck and a B’s player who got several punches to the back of Backstrom’s head.

In my opinion, the refs looked like they were intimidated.

BTW, there is a great post about Chris Rooney at Japers’ Rink (japersrink.blogspot.com

  3. I find that post a bit offensive. Can’t see how you can blame the refs. Brashear deserved everything he got. Erksine’s was a bad call, the Bruin was falling. He had no need to have his stick on him. Why did Poti go mental? The replay did not show this normally (too) mild mannered player would decide to slash Murray three times.

  4. Ted, given your status as an owner would you be able to make any real complaints about the game to see that the refs in question at least got a telling off or something?

  5. I feel sick to my stomach. The Caps played a perfect road game until the “Brash incident” but I thought we could kill the 6 mins, as our PK was doing a great job the whole game; but that call on Erskine was absolutely brutal. A little tap on the gloves, 5 on 3, and you knew the game was over. I don’t know….maybe they can learn something from this?? We must beat Pittsburgh tomorrow.

  6. It was a sad ending to an otherwise decent game. How can the referees get away with changing the course of a game? At least two instances in one week of bad officiating. Not good when every point counts so much.
