Look up perseverance in the dictionary and there is a picture of Quintin Laing. This is so heart-warming. Congratulations for the nomination.

Kudos to Quint (”Bigger Boat”) Laing for the nomination!
I have a hunch though, that the winner this year will be either Teppo Numinnen of Buffalo (who is trying to make a comeback from open heart surgery) or Jason Blake of Toronto (who is playing while having a highly treatable form of leukemia). While Quint deserves many cheers for his effort (and he is the *best* shot blocking forward in the league!) I think that Teppo and Jason are going through something much more difficult.
Now how about Quint for the Selke Trophy (best defensive forward)?
One of the best memories I have from this season is when Ovie went and congratulated the three penalty killers, starting with Laing, after an amazing, shot blocking, 5 on 3 penalty kill late in a game which the Caps won. A great nomination indeed.
it’s awesome he was the Caps selection. He’s the true underdog that you always want to root for out there, and see other guys hustle as much as Quintin. When I saw Victor Kozlov block a shot this week, I almost put my beer through my nose!
Quintin is quickly becoming a fan favorite here. He’s always been a tough cookie. I love the fact that we’ve got guys like Quintin, and Clarke, and Laich, and Ovechkin that really express so much joy every game. They make this team so easy to like. They play hockey because they love it, and it’s obvious that they do. The Caps would be in some serious trouble without Quintin Laing, and every true Caps fan appreciates him.
