OK on to the NCAA tournament now for Georgetown after a tough Big East championship game upset against Pittsburgh. Key players got themselves into foul trouble and we were beaten soundly on the boards for rebounds and second chance shots. Today is Selection Sunday and I am sure Georgetown will be a high seed in the tournament.
Six area teams make it to the tourney, but the NCAA sees fit to put two of them together in the “play-in” game, and have them play in, of all places, Dayton, OH.
Couldn’t they have found a way for Mt. St. Mary’s and Coppin St. (both Maryland schools!) to play somewhere like the Comcast Center or Marine Midland Arena in Baltimore? Sheesh!
Anyway, the area will be well represented in the tourney and G-town will do well. And if I were a Notre Dame fan, I wouldn’t be sleeping too well considering who my first round opponent is…
Dear Mr. Leonsis… As a huge Pens and Pitt fan I can only imagine what this past week has been like for a person such as yourself. You must rally hate the city of Pittsburgh and it’s sports tams. Last night was a great game with junior Sam Young out of Friendly high in Clinton Maryland leading all scores with 17 points 6 bounds and numerous blocked shots on Roy Hibbert. Don’t sweat this loss because with their record G-town is assured of getting a very high seed. Good luck to G-town and Lets Go PITT!!. Have a great day
