After a dominating first period that saw us go up 3 to 0, I thought we took our foot off the gas and ended up in a very tough fight of a game. We are fortunate to get the two points with our 4 to 2 win.
After a dominating first period that saw us go up 3 to 0, I thought we took our foot off the gas and ended up in a very tough fight of a game. We are fortunate to get the two points with our 4 to 2 win. We aren’t getting much help from teams ahead of us losing so we aren’t gaining much ground in the standings but we are now only three points behind Carolina and we play them two more times. Congratulations to Alex Ovechkin. He is the first player in Caps history to have two 100 point seasons and he now has 300 points in less than three season’s worth of play.
please re-sign Huet.
plus that means I can get a Huet jersey quicker.
Huet is awesome; do what you have to do, but next year we need to have both Kolzig and Huet. Olie has played much better with Huet sharing the net with him.
The Caps have played well, and give some credit to the Preds, after sleepwalking through the first period, they showed how dangerous they are. They are the toughest team the Caps will face on the trip.
That said, tonight is an emotional night in Chicago, and even though their team is going nowhere this season, they’ll have a full house of Hawk fans and will come out fully charged. If the Caps can get out to a quick lead, that will get the crowd quiet. Here’s hoping that’ll happen.
Atlanta sure laid an egg last night in Philly, and look, they get to fail to help us again tonight against Carolina…oy.
We can pay the Thrashers back for non-support on Friday.
before last nights game, philly had only gotten 2 points total in the past 4 games played, and boston has lost 7 out of its last 9 games. and if my eyes dont deceive me, the team that was in the stanley cup last year, and started off so hot for the first 3 months is now only 7 pts in front of us (ottawa). win tonight and friday, rest up over the holiday, and then fasten your seat belts, its going to be a bumpy ride.
Another tough game tonight in Chicago which features a tribue to Tony Esposito and the game is sold-out.
Why?
Ted,
As a hockey blogger I wanted to say thank you for your support. I have heard you on XM before and every time I walk away more impressed with your media savvy and acceptance of the “new” media. I cover the Nashville Predatos, and do have a media credential so I know what it is like to be “that blogger guy”. Thanks again and I hope you like my post-game blog. It can be seen here: http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=14146
Ted-The caps have already improved by 10 standings points over last year and 05-06 with 8 games still left to play.Congrats.
