Big Win Against Detroit
Beating Orlando at their arena and Detroit last night at home shows how strong a team like the Wizards is with Caron Butler back in the lineup.
Now the Wizards embark on their long road trip and hopefully Gilbert Arenas can be reintroduced back into the lineup and test his surgically repaired knee. The Wizards are starting to peak at the right time. The team is situated 5th in the East. It would be amazing to have both the Wizards and the Caps in the playoffs in the same season, wouldn
Japers’ is Right
As I have noted on my blog all season long, there have been some games and points left on the table that would come back to haunt us later in the season. The difference between success and failure in the NHL right now is so very slim – an OT victory here; a two point win instead of the game being a three pointer there; a game that goes into overtime and getting a point instead of losing the lead in the last minute, etc. etc. Your head will explode if you mapped out each game and the small one goal differential and the points we left on the table. But that work and analysis is better left for the off season.

But that work and analysis is better left for the off season. The season went by very fast. Now we enter the last two weeks before the playoff season. We have six games left – three on the road and three at home. We get back at it against Carolina on Tuesday. Carolina is probably the hottest team in the NHL right now. We also have another game against them at home next week plus we play Florida who is breathing down our neck as well. We must only focus on the games at hand and not cry over spilled milk. Onward.
Ugh
I read a great article in this week’s Sports Illustrated about the coach of Georgetown men’s basketball program, John Thompson III, and his philosophy of taking care of the little things and worrying about execution game by game. His philosophy was spot on but, sad to say, the players didn’t step up and Georgetown is now out of the tournament.

His philosophy was spot on but, sad to say, the players didn’t step up and Georgetown is now out of the tournament. Twenty unforced turnovers; terrible free throw shooting; our senior year big man on the bench in foul trouble (only scoring six points); and losing a huge lead in the second half wasn
A Good Example of a Print-Based Property “Getting It”…
Good for Forbes. Embracing new business methodologies is smart. Creating a vertical network around a key subject matter and leveraging all of the clicks and page views and unique visitors to create something bigger and better for advertisers is a wise decision. The media landscape is filled with examples of how specialists win and in financial markets, the advertising is often times specialized and the agency and client are willing to pay higher CPMs and click through rates for good targeting and good in context delivery of a message. I think this one can work.
