Go Caps!

Wow! Every game is a nail biter! All that matters is that we got two points; get to rest in the sunshine; heal up a bit; and then play Florida on Saturday night for the last game on the road in the regular season. It is amazing how the little things, the inches in every battle, really do matter. Case in point: Fedorov wins a faceoff; gets the puck to Semin; and we score a goal to tie it up or there is an icing call and Jurcina’s stick is an inch away from a touch up; the Lightning get it; they keep it in play and they go up a goal. Every shift matters at this time of the season. Our team certainly has heart and is playing for each other. It is great to see Bruce jumping up and down on the bench; knocking his glasses off; and hugging his assistant coaches when we win a nail biter. He has brought true authentic passion to his work, to the bench and to his team. There are only four more games in the regular season. Time flies when you are having fun!

  1. Ted, This is one of the hardest working teams right now in the NHL. I HAVEN’T SEEN A CAPS ROSTER WORK THIS HARD IN 20 YEARS! Some tense moments when they slacked up a period or two a game or two ago, but with that said, Caps fans are fired up! What a sensational turn around and commitment on you’re part. I havent had this much fun since the days of Dale Hunter and a young Peter Bondra and company. Head held high in PA. Bigest Cap Fan In PA.

  2. Mr.Leonsis Thanks for all you do for the Caps.Yes it was another nail biter, but a win is a win. I’ll take them anyway we can get them.

  3. We’ll be there on Saturday night here in Florida–look for us in full CAPs gear rooting like crazy for our team to crush the Panthers…GO CAPS!!!!

  4. This is a silly and forward thinking question – Should we red out stadiums or white them out?

I recall going to a Caps Ottawa game in ’98 and remembering just how white the stadium was – and I loved it.

I guess Red would be ok if we took that route, but it just makes me think of Calgary.

  5. While I don’t think the Caps played their best game at all last night, they got the 2 points, and that’s all that matters.

Daunting task ahead, and I hope they do it.

  6. That face-off win by Fedorov was incredible. Also the shot by Semin. Wow. All made possible by Huet’s save before.

Maybe the Caps should come out with an NHL-authorized line of fingernails to chew.

  7. Fun? Fun? 6-2 lead with 3 minutes left in the 3rd is fun. Last night was torture….in a good way.

The Kids are learning how to win close games, winning when down late in the 3rd.

May not be this year, but the Cup will come your way in the near future. You should be proud of your organization. It starts from you and goes all the way down the “food chain”. I wish this team and its fans all the success they can get.

  8. Ted,

Can you please get the team to win convincingly on Saturday? I’m not sure how many years of my life I’ve lost watching the last 3 games, but it’s got to be in the double digits.

Great wins, all of them. They showed the resiliency needed to compete at this high level. The never give up attitude is very evident, and it’s very pleasing to watch. I can’t tell you how great it feels to be seeing the team play very meaningful games this late into the season. It’s been a while, and I know the Caps had to do what they did to get to this point. 2 more points left in Fla, then we need to get all 6 at home.

I have that damn Journey song stuck in my head, and I HATE JOURNEY. But, I “won’t stop believing!” GO CAPS!

  9. Time flies when it’s almost running out :-/ Let’s hope there’s enough left for us eek into the playoffs.

  10. Ted, we are still in this thing. It showed last night the make up of this team. We are generally a very young team with a lot a talent. I can only hope for a play off berth. If not this year then I will wish for a speedy off season so we can start the 2008/2009 season. This team will dominate the South East division next year and be the team to beat in the Eastern Conference. The hope is still alive this year and every game down to the wire makes for some great evenings. Thanks for being the great owner that you are and best wishes to you and George. Proud to be a Cap fan in PA. Biggest Cap Fan in PA.

  11. What a ride Ted, congrats and most of all, thank you. I strongly believe it’s important to make the playoffs, not only because we all deserve it after so many years of misery, but because this team can do some damage. Seriously, what team in the East could the Caps be scared of, not too many. Although I would still like our D to be more physical, they have limited the shots and scoring opportunities. Last night we won without the first line scoring, and this team is as united as any Caps team I’ve ever seen. BB for coach of the year, hands down. I am eating crow, and loving it.

  12. Thank you Bruce Boudreau and thank you Washington Capitals for showing great heart and guts night in and night out. This has been a great year to be a caps fan. Each player deserves a handshake and a pat on the back for the way they play and have fought for each other.

Keep up the good work. You should be proud.

  13. Bruce is great. I met him after practice in early January and we chatted briefly about the team. You got to root for the guy.

I love how this team has responded under his guidance. They were the worst team in hockey a month into the season and now they are in a playoff fight and could end up with 90 points.

    Go Caps go! Believe!

  14. It is great to see the team this enthusiastic. I think the last time they were this upbeat was game 2 vs. Tampa in 2003, when Mike Grier put the Caps up to stay (gads, it’s be nice if he were still here… he was the *one* player I didn’t want to see go during the fire sale.)

Anyway, it was a win, and despite Tampa getting a point, it really didn’t have a major impact on us. Next up is Florida, who lost to Atlanta last night and will be motivated to be tough. (Think maybe Atlanta can win 2 in a row tonight when they host the ‘Canes?)
