I went to the Nationals Home Opener last night. It was perfect. The park is beautiful; great sight lines; and terrific food and services. My seats are row 2 on the Nats dugout. It’s so close you can hear the ball smack the catcher’s glove and hear the players trash-talking in the dugout.

It’s so close you can hear the ball smack the catcher’s glove and hear the players trash-talking in the dugout. The game was fun and Mark Lerner came and sat with us in the 8th inning. The score was tied and when Ryan Zimmerman came up to bat I said, "Mark – He is a star. This is a huge stage. He will end it with one swing to make a perfect Hollywood ending." Wouldn’t you know it? Two pitches later and "it was gone baby, gone". Mark and I hugged and laughed. What a perfect night.
Can we come by between innings and say hey?
You ought to think about doing a charity posted of Alex and Zim with the title of “DC Dominators” or something like that. The proceeds going to one or more local causes.
I also think there should be a “Battle of Eagles” this summer with Slapshot and Screech… also for charity.
Too bad baseball isn’t as exciting as Caps hockey.
Ted,
If you want to sell any games your not going to, I’ll buy them! I’ve got Caps tickets in 409 for trade if it’ll help.
You should serve Ben’s Chilli Bowl at the Caps Games Next season! Best part about the Game last night!
Awesome! I can’t wait to go to a Nat’s game at their new park. I’m totally jealous of your seats Ted.
Nice call. You have to love the fact that while he crushed that ball there is no way it was a HR in RFK.
I miss my Expos.
Ted-The Nats are 1-0. That means they’re above .500 right? You better call the NY times to verify that though.
