Capitals Extend Red Out to Remaining Two Regular-Season Games at Verizon Center
Fans are encouraged to show their support and wear red to Thursday’s game vs. Tampa and Saturday’s regular-season finale against Florida
ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals have extended Tuesday’s highly successful Red Out to the team’s two remaining regular-season games, both at Verizon Center. Fans are encouraged to show their support for the Capitals, deep in the midst of a battle for the postseason, and wear red to the team’s games on Thursday, April 3, against the Tampa Bay Lightning and Saturday, April 5, against the Florida Panthers. Fans are being asked to don red jerseys, hats and T-shirts to fill the arena with red.
A lot is on the line for Washington in its final two games of the regular season. After Tuesday’s dramatic 4-1 victory against visiting Carolina, the Capitals have tied the Hurricanes for the Southeast Division lead. With two games left in the season, the Capitals can make their first playoff appearance since 2003 with a pair of victories and some help from the Eastern Conference.
The games are the final of three during Washington’s Fan Appreciation Week, March 31-April 5, 2008. Full of giveaways, contests and events surrounding the team’s remaining games, the celebration thanks Caps fans for their support throughout the season. Saturday night’s game against Florida is Fan Appreciation Night, with numerous activities planned for fans in attendance, including an Alex Ovechkin bobblehead giveaway for the first 15,000 fans in attendance.
