I Guess Dan Doesn’t Collect Watches

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

My two lucky, undefeated watches are a silver Rolex Yacht-Master and a gold Breitling, both bought at Caps sponsor Liljenquist & Beckstead in Tyson’s Corner.

My two lucky, undefeated watches are a silver Rolex Yacht-Master and a gold Breitling, both bought at Caps sponsor Liljenquist & Beckstead in Tyson’s Corner. It is a wise man that doesn’t tempt the fates and the Cartier Tank watch that I wore in the three overtime loss against Tampa hasn’t been worn but once since that game. I am wearing a pretty lucky watch on my wrist tonight as I watch the games on TV. It can’t hurt, can it?

Capitals Extend Red Out to Remaining Two Regular-Season Games at Verizon Center

Fans are encouraged to show their support and wear red to Thursday’s game vs. Tampa and Saturday’s regular-season finale against Florida

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals have extended Tuesday’s highly successful Red Out to the team’s two remaining regular-season games, both at Verizon Center. Fans are encouraged to show their support for the Capitals, deep in the midst of a battle for the postseason, and wear red to the team’s games on Thursday, April 3, against the Tampa Bay Lightning and Saturday, April 5, against the Florida Panthers. Fans are being asked to don red jerseys, hats and T-shirts to fill the arena with red.

A lot is on the line for Washington in its final two games of the regular season. After Tuesday’s dramatic 4-1 victory against visiting Carolina, the Capitals have tied the Hurricanes for the Southeast Division lead. With two games left in the season, the Capitals can make their first playoff appearance since 2003 with a pair of victories and some help from the Eastern Conference.

The games are the final of three during Washington’s Fan Appreciation Week, March 31-April 5, 2008. Full of giveaways, contests and events surrounding the team’s remaining games, the celebration thanks Caps fans for their support throughout the season. Saturday night’s game against Florida is Fan Appreciation Night, with numerous activities planned for fans in attendance, including an Alex Ovechkin bobblehead giveaway for the first 15,000 fans in attendance.

Robert Redford

I was honored to meet with Robert Redford yesterday in DC. He was here to evangelize to Congress the need for more support of the arts in public schools. We met for two hours and discussed new media, filmmaking and politics. He is a man of true integrity and taste and is a hero to me and many of my friends.

I was honored to meet with Robert Redford yesterday in DC. He was here to evangelize to Congress the need for more support of the arts in public schools. We met for two hours and discussed new media, filmmaking and politics. He is a man of true integrity and taste and is a hero to me and many of my friends.  I believe the Sundance brand is one of the true authentic and most valuable brands in business today. He is a man that I admire very much as a business man, as an artist and as an environmentalist. He also helped to create the independent film category and made the first indie film with "Downhill Racer". I could listen to him for hours talk about the power of film and how message-oriented movies can help improve education; change opinions; and create work that we can be proud of as filmmakers.
