My two lucky, undefeated watches are a silver Rolex Yacht-Master and a gold Breitling, both bought at Caps sponsor Liljenquist & Beckstead in Tyson’s Corner.
My two lucky, undefeated watches are a silver Rolex Yacht-Master and a gold Breitling, both bought at Caps sponsor Liljenquist & Beckstead in Tyson’s Corner. It is a wise man that doesn’t tempt the fates and the Cartier Tank watch that I wore in the three overtime loss against Tampa hasn’t been worn but once since that game. I am wearing a pretty lucky watch on my wrist tonight as I watch the games on TV. It can’t hurt, can it?
We got a little help from New Jersey and more help from Pittsburgh.
Tonight if we get help from Toronto, and beat Tampa, we’ll control our own destiny again!
What is it about sports that brings out the crazy superstitions in all of us? The Caps have not lost a home game since I started drinking Shock Top beer at the games. I’ll be hoisting one tonight, you can be sure.
Ted, a man of your stature need to be wearing a Rolex Daytona, white face stainless steel. I know there is a 10 yr waiting list for us mortals, but you should be able to get one from L&B in no time. If they if get you a new one for you in less than a month, let me know, I know a Rolex dealer that can accommodate you in a matter of weeks. (no off the truck stuff, the real thing from a authorized dealer).
I own one, and you wont believe how many time I have been approached in elevators, meetings and the subway in NYC by guys asking about the watch.
Sincere congratulations on what you have done with the Caps, they remind me of the 1981 Edmonton Oilers, commencing a decade of domination with young stars (of course the one huge difference is not having classless Pocklington as the owner).
It makes it easier to endure your incessant name dropping of insufferable, holier than thou celebrities like, Robert Redford (he is the worst) and your obsession with shiny, brand name jewelry (must be a New York City thing).
By the way, nice tan at the game last night. The FLA is always a treat in Springtime.
Power to the people.
Haha, I was thinking “that’s a store, not a watch.” Alas, maybe I just spend too much time at the mall…
Mr. Leonsis,
While I am a Chicago Blackhawks season ticket holder and huge fan of Rocky Wirtz, I consider you to be the most progressive, forward-thinking owner in the NHL. Thank you for investing some much of your considerable talent, money and energy into improving the NHL. You and the Capitals represent the future of the NHL. I sincerely hope the Capitals make the playoffs and win the Stanely Cup. I have been following hockey for 30 years and Alex Ovechkin is the most talented and entertaining player I have ever seen!
In my opinion, the NHL needs to focus on two things: 1) increase the penalties for fighting (otherwise it will always be a fringe sport); and 2) get an ESPN contract.
Go Caps!
Regards,
Bill McFadden
