Capitals Extend Red Out to Remaining Two Regular-Season Games at Verizon Center
Fans are encouraged to show their support and wear red to Thursday’s game vs. Tampa and Saturday’s regular-season finale against Florida
ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals have extended Tuesday’s highly successful Red Out to the team’s two remaining regular-season games, both at Verizon Center. Fans are encouraged to show their support for the Capitals, deep in the midst of a battle for the postseason, and wear red to the team’s games on Thursday, April 3, against the Tampa Bay Lightning and Saturday, April 5, against the Florida Panthers. Fans are being asked to don red jerseys, hats and T-shirts to fill the arena with red.
A lot is on the line for Washington in its final two games of the regular season. After Tuesday’s dramatic 4-1 victory against visiting Carolina, the Capitals have tied the Hurricanes for the Southeast Division lead. With two games left in the season, the Capitals can make their first playoff appearance since 2003 with a pair of victories and some help from the Eastern Conference.
The games are the final of three during Washington’s Fan Appreciation Week, March 31-April 5, 2008. Full of giveaways, contests and events surrounding the team’s remaining games, the celebration thanks Caps fans for their support throughout the season. Saturday night’s game against Florida is Fan Appreciation Night, with numerous activities planned for fans in attendance, including an Alex Ovechkin bobblehead giveaway for the first 15,000 fans in attendance.

Ted: Czaban had an EXCELLENT idea on his radio show today. He said that using Red Out was boring and that using Code Red or Red Alert would be much better. I agree. Maybe you want to consider it.
Other than this blog, I haven’t seen any word on this. It needs to be on the site to get the bolts seeing red.
I’ll be there, in red, in 421 Row A.
Got my Hunter jersey (new style #32 of course!)
See you tonight!
Ted-Any chance of getting some red towels for Tonight and Saturday???
I will be there loud and proud in red.
As the old saying goes ” what a difference a day makes”. This team, fans and area are alive thinking hockey playoffs.
I had so many people come up to me today talking about last nights game and the remaining home games, it was almost like a Monday after a Skins game.
It’s true “Win and they will come”
Ovechkin and this team are making the folks in this area think hockey!
Don’t you just love it when a “plan” comes together?
I’ll be there tomorrow night in my red. Can’t wait! GO CAPS!
As an aside, has anyone else noticed the uncanny resemblance Sidney Crosby and the late Freddie Mercury from Queen share? Check out this link:

If you stuck a Pens helmet on Freddie, he would look just like Sid. They both have those caveman/gorilla-like mouths. Anyway, just wanted to point that out.
