My Head is Spinning

Can it be that only five teams in the East have won more games than the Caps? And only 11 teams in the entire league have won more than 41 games so far this season? Can you remember a closer playoff race than this one?

  1. I agree with John, it’s awesome to see everyone at the games now, but where were they when the team wasn’t doing so well??

  2. But on the other side, Ted, only five teams in the East have lost more games in regulation than the Caps (31). And that’s why we don’t yet control our own destiny.

If the OTT-BOS game Friday ends in regulation (no 3-point game, please), then the Caps clinch 8th with a win Saturday. That would be sweet indeed.

  3. I was looking at that very thing too. Caps are playing now with the elite in the league. Many of the young guns are maturing at the same time. A lot of these RFAs are going to get more than they would have gotten with the way they’ve stepped up (Laich, Green, Mo, etc.)

  4. I hate Flyer and Penguin fans!

Fair weather or not I was thrilled at the fan response on Tuesday.

It felt like DC is a hockey town again!

    LET’S GO CAPS!

  5. What is up with all of the fair weather fans? It is great to see them there., but where were they when we were surrounded by Buffalo fans or Flyers fans or the damn Penguin fans with thier gay penguin mating calls???

  6. All I know is I can feel my hair falling out I cant eat right, I bite everyones head off around me, I’m so stressed I can barely sleep, DAMN I LOVE IT! FYI: I go to every game and I live in Carroll County and see a guy on the train that comes from PA to go to every game

  7. It’s real simple. We win we in. I was at the Carolina game it took awhile for people to wake up. But once they did the place was rocking. I only wish I lived closer so I could attend more games. I feel like my hockey spirit has been in a comma these last couple years. All of a sudden I feel alive and have something to look forward to at night. Its exciting stuff. Now only if my cable provider would sell out to Comcast so I wouldn’t miss any more games. LETS GO CAPS C A P S CAPS CAPS CAPS. M V P. M V P. I lost my voice chanting that Tuesday.

  8. The only thing that compares from what I can remember is the 1973 National League East race in baseball, when the Mets went from last place on August 30 to win the division. Five of the six teams in the division finished within 5 games of first.

  9. Could it be that the Caps have the 2nd best record in the NHL since Bruce came aboard? Could it be, in fact, that the Caps are truly playing elite hockey? Yes…it could be true, and it IS TRUE, as long as the whole team believes it and continues to walk the walk. Go CAPS!

  10. Well, the good news is that with all those wins the Caps will have the tie-breaker over Ottawa, Philly and Boston assuming the Caps win out.
