I Asked the Same Questions

More than two years ago, I gave a speech at Georgetown and asked the assembled group of 100+ students some questions:

Who reads a newspaper every morning in its physical form? Who reads a news magazine every week or subscribes to a news magazine? Who wants to go to work for a newspaper company or magazine publisher upon graduation? Not a single hand went up. I said "canary in the coal mine". This doesn’t auger well. Check out this story. See the quotes within. It is scary times for print-based publications and their true "anemic" future growth prospects. I have yet to see a Newsweek widget on a single Facebook page or a Newsweek social app on a single blog or syndicated website. Have you?

Congrats to the Wizards

What a great team effort. And now it is four years in a row that they have qualified for the playoffs. Let’s hope the team gets healthy and everyone is ready to go for the first round.

What a great team effort. And now it is four years in a row that they have qualified for the playoffs. Let’s hope the team gets healthy and everyone is ready to go for the first round. Wouldn’t it be great for the city to have BOTH the Caps and the Wizards in the playoffs at the same time? It has been 20 years since that last happened!

Bruceeeeeeeee

Good for Bruce. He deserves every accolade headed his way. One more point tonight and the first chapter of the storybook Hollywood script will be written. I am very proud of Bruce. I am very happy for him and his family. And I will buy Bruce a dozen tailor-made red shirts. He has started a fashion trend!
