You did it! It was crazy. It was insane. The place was loud. You were rocking. Thank you. That was so much fun, wasn’t it?

Teddy I watched the game here in New York with my family. We loved seeing the TEAM play with such fire and percision. Way to go Coach Boudreau!!! We caught a quick glimpse of you at the end of the game with both hands raised doing that traditional high five VICTORY celebration of yours!!!
The fun is only beginning…
It was great yelling Bruuuuuccccceeeeeeee last night. Normally I reserve that for Springsteen but Mr. Boudreau has earned it too.
That was an incredible run. Had text messages bouncing from both coasts and Canada during the entire game. Where can I get an Ovechkin jersey in Northern California?
Sorry Ted, but I cant afford a Jersey for myself yet. but my kids both have jerseys and we have season tickets so we show up as best as we can!!! Now sign Green to a nice long deal because I will buy a Green jersey the day you do! I will have to work some OT to afford it but I will if you will!
What a game! What a feeling to be part of something like that! It was so inspiring to watch Federoff. He was the #1 star x10. Not only did he score the decisive goal on a spectacular play, but he was skating his butt off the entire game. I hope everyone noticed the number of times he skated faster and harder than anyone else to get back on defense to prevent odd man rushes by Florida. And Semin is playing like a many possessed–is it Federoff’s influence on him? Finally, hats off to Florida for a gutsy effort; they did not give us anything last night; the Caps had to earn it. And having Florida beat Carolina was an added bonus (though we would have made the playoffs anyway.)
Ted:
Thanks for giving me a high five last night and having a great time with us at the arena. And thanks for putting together such a great club. Finally it seems to be happening, doesn’t it?
Go Caps!
From an “original” fan who saw his first game as a grade schooler in 1976, and one who has moved quite far from his DC roots, I have to say it brought tears to my eyes to see the craziness that has been Verizon over the past week. I was lucky enough to see the game on HDNet, surround sound and all, and I have to say, that was the craziest it has been, most likely since the 1988 Hunter comeback, which (for the time being) remains the loudest at the old “barn”.
That said, there is something special going on in Capsland, much more than in 1998 when a gritty team made a Finals run but actually played better ON THE ROAD.
The sense I have is that, indeed, Caps fans WILL sellout the 1st round in two days, before Flyers fans (assuming they win) can get much inroads. Even watching the Pens game a month ago, you could sense the turning tide in Verizon (Crosby was booed constantly).
Having lived in Florida for many recent years, I was part of the craziness that was the Lightning’s run in 2004, and these Caps have that same “feel” – “Safe is Death”, which allows the attacking and physical style when the D is blocking shots and punishing forwards, and the G can make the critical 2-on-1 saves when the D pinches forward.
If the Caps continue to play “up on their skates” as they did through this run, the rest of the East had better watch out.
Ted and Company,
CONGRATULATIONS… and the fun has just begun!! No matter what happens from this point forward… this team is on its way up and will get to the Cup!
I know it was hard to fire Hanlon, but out of something bad something good ALWAYS happens. Thank you for making the change. I adore Bruce B and all he has done with this team. Also, GREAT moves at the deadline – Federov and Huet have given this team another dimension of confidence. Enjoy every moment…. the fun has just begun!!
Awesome game. So happy & proud to have been there. Looking forward to next week. Got our tickets!
GO CAPS!!
TED! That was the most rollercoaster year of hockey I’ve been through since 1998 — but damn it, it was also the most exciting. Thanks for being the best owner in hockey!
LETS GO CAPS!
