I am overwhelmed with email this morning, more than 200 of them. I can’t respond to all of them.

All I can say is thank you for believing. Thank you for coming out to support the team. Thank you for screaming your lungs out at the Verizon Center and at home while watching the game on television. Thank you for looking so good in red. You rock it! Onward to the playoffs. You witnessed history from last to first. "Don’t stop believing!"
During the last minute of play on Saturday, my ears hurt from the noise level, my daughters and wife were screaming at the top of their lungs, I was screaming, it was a joyus pain. Even better the look of the Panthers players as they skated around the ice with 20 seconds to go, not playing anymore, just watching us (the fans) celebrate our team!
Tickets in hand, voice recovered, ready to bleed Caps red out of my ears if need be.
LET’S GO CAPS!
Thanks Ted!
your team has taken the metropolitan area by surprise at a time of great economic dispair. it is times like this that one must thank not only the players & coaches but the ownership as well. Bravo Ted!
PS George Michael needs to retire and reflect
Ted, congratulations! Saturday was certainly a night to remember, and I’ve never seen the arena so energized, even in 1998. It’ll be fun to see where destiny takes us!!
I live in PA and i know for a fact that I am the only caps fan at my school, and I’m a girl haha. But anyway seriously this is amazing and I can’t wait to rub it in all the Flyers and Penguins fans faces. They constantly made fun of me because they said the caps would never make the playoffs, but they did! AND they are seeded higher than the Flyers! it’s ridiculous and I am as happy as could be.
I swear I went through every caps shirt and jersey i own this week. haha =]
I can’t wait to watch the playoff games!
Ted- 5 minutes after the game, I went to the web site and looked at the playoff tickets.
I still was in shock and couldn’t believe that the CAPS were in. I live 450 miles to the north (Ft Drum) and I logged off.
The next morning, it having sunk in that the CAPS were in, no fooling, I bought 2 tics to games 1 & 2.
It’ll be an incredible trip w/ my 16 yr old daughter.
Too Cool! Let’s Go CAPS!
Ted – CAPS ticket holders since ’87 and never such a season! God Bless the “believers”, we are with them all the way to the drink from Lord Stanley’s cup. Thank everyone for a fun year.
This team is infectious. Seriously, I’ve never seen DC Hockey this pumped up. I never thought the red-out would work because I kept thinking it was the old caps, but i was wrong. I think you can take solace in knowing the rebuild is over because the most important part – the fans – are loud and proud. I’m rockin my red at home. Make it to the finals so I can see the Caps on the West Coast!!
The boys are force to be reckoned with. They have the drive and the heart to make it happen and that has been evident in the last few months. I thank all of the caps players, GM GM and of course you Ted by proving the nay sayers wrong that we were finished. It has only just begun! I bought as many tickets to the playoffs that I could afford and GIVING them to fellow caps fans that are friends of mine just to try to fill the seats with as much red as possible.
Ted – last night’s climactic moments had me recalling one of your early posts of the season after our 3-0 start when you said you were not getting excited yet and that the season would have many highs and lows…man, when you said that i’m sure you didn’t quite have in mind the emotional intensity of this regular season’s drama and any result this amazing!
Mr. Leonsis, From your treatment of Dale Hunter at the end of his stellar career to last night, this franchise is the definition of class. The players, coaches and management are talented and incredibly hard working. This is organization has long deserved the embrace the city is now giving it. Last night was not about the team or franchise, but about admiration for you and Mr. McPhee. Congratulations.
Ted you are by far one of the best owners in all of sports!!!!!!!!
I loved every moment last night and it was great seeing you on the video board enjoying the moment as the clock ticked to :00. You earned it Ted!
Let’s go Caps!
Me too! Thank you Ted!! Thank you for believing in George McPhee (what amazing trades!) & believing that hockey can succeed in DC! Good luck & Go Caps!
Congratulation!
I was hollering in glee at my TV set Saturday night. I’m so proud to be a Capitals fan right now. Best wishes on keeping the momentum throughout the playoffs, and hopefully the Cup finals.
Thank YOU! I am really happy for you!
Bill Delaney
Season Ticket Holder
Ted, my hat is off to you, to George McPhee, to Bruce Boudreau, and to every one of the Caps players. There are too many great story lines to even try to list, so I’ll just say that this is a season to remember!!! And you can tell that this is just the start of great things to come. Wow! My thanks and congratulations to all of you! Now let’s make some more noise in the playoffs!! See you at the Booth!!!
